Tutor / PLD Facilitator – Coding & Digital Technologies

About the Role

Support tamariki (ages 5–11) in South Auckland to build coding and STEM skills, while also delivering PLD workshops that help teachers integrate digital fluency and the NZ Digital Technologies Curriculum. This role blends hands-on teaching with educator support and resource development.

What You’ll Do

• Teach coding & STEM to primary-aged tamariki (onsite & online)

• Facilitate PLD for teachers on digital fluency & NZDTC

• Develop lesson plans and digital learning resources

• Support continuous improvement through feedback and collaboration

• Uphold child safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding requirements

About You

• Studying or qualified in STEM (computer science, engineering, robotics, AI, maths, digital tech)

• Minimum 6 months teaching/tutoring experience with primary-aged children

• Confident communicator with both children and adults

• Strong commitment to kaupapa Māori values, equity, and community

• Able to meet legal requirements: right to work in NZ, Police vetting, H&S and Privacy compliance

Contract Details

• Independent Contractor

• $45/hr (incl. GST)

• Up to 10 hrs/week, scalable

• Fortnightly invoicing

• Contractor responsible for GST, ACC, tax, insurance

• Potential for annual extension
