About the Role – Kōrero mō te Tūranga

We have an exciting opportunity for someone with strong administration and/or coordination experience who is looking to build a career in Human Resources. As part of our fast-paced and agile People Hub team, you'll play an important role in supporting our people and delivering great service across MPI. This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad HR experience across a large and diverse organisation while building knowledge across the full employee lifecycle.

In this busy and varied role, you'll provide high-quality HR administration and coordination support across MPI. From onboarding new employees and preparing employment documentation to responding to HR queries and supporting payroll processes, you'll work with a wide range of people across People & Capability and the wider organisation. If you're a proactive problem solver with a positive attitude and a passion for helping people, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a first point of contact for People Hub enquiries
  • Provide HR administration and coordination support across the employee lifecycle
  • Prepare employment documentation and support onboarding activities
  • Navigate HR and payroll systems to ensure accurate processing
  • Respond to employee HR queries and provide exceptional customer service
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes and systems

About You – Mōu

You'll be an organised and customer-focused administrator or coordinator who enjoys working with people and delivering great service. Whether your experience comes from the public or private sector, you'll bring strong attention to detail, a proactive approach, and the ability to manage a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment. While previous HR experience is advantageous, we're equally interested in candidates who are keen to grow their career in Human Resources and are excited by the opportunity to learn and develop in a supportive team.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience in an administration or coordination role
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing demands
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach to your work
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel
  • An interest in Human Resources, with HR experience beneficial but not essential

You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. We offer a breadth of development and learning opportunities and will welcome an application if you think you could make a great fit.
