Job Description

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Class 4 & 5 Driver to join an established civil and drainage contractor in Hastings.

You’ll be operating articulated trucks and semi-trailers, with previous tipping experience essential for this role.


Location: Hastings, Hawke’s Bay

Start date: October

Pay rate: $30–$36 per hour depending on experience, paid weekly


  • What you’ll be doingOperating Class 4 and Class 5 vehicles safely and professionally
  • Driving articulated trucks and semi-trailers across civil projects
  • Carrying out tipping work safely and efficiently
  • Transporting materials to and from civil and drainage sites
  • Completing appropriate vehicle and safety checks
  • Working alongside civil and drainage crews when required
  • Following all site and road Health & Safety requirements
  • What we’re looking forCurrent NZ Class 4 and/or Class 5 Driver Licence
  • Proven experience operating heavy vehicles
  • Previous tipping experience is essential
  • Experience with articulated trucks or semi-trailers
  • Civil or drainage industry experience would be advantageous
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness and a reliable work ethic
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
