We’re looking for a Senior Business Systems & Integration Analyst to maintain, enhance and integrate Council’s data and applications. You’ll combine systems, database and development expertise to deliver integrations, automation, reporting and digital services.


What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi


You’ll lead the design, development, support and optimisation of enterprise system integrations, APIs and web services across cloud and on-premise environments. Working collaboratively with Project Managers and stakeholders, you’ll translate business needs into technical requirements and deliver solutions from concept through to successful implementation.


The role will involve:


  • Ensure the availability, performance, security and reliability of non-enterprise databases, while supporting data migration and database decommissioning.
  • Lead the design, development, support and optimisation of enterprise integrations, APIs and web services, including security, authentication, monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Participate in solution design, architecture reviews and technical discovery, and help modernise legacy applications through cloud-enabled and API-first approaches.
  • Administer and support TechnologyOne, including release testing, troubleshooting, vendor liaison, supporting module implementation, and developing reports, dashboards and alerts.
  • Provide technical advice and application support to stakeholders, including solution design, technology evaluation and data extraction for reporting and data flows.

You’ll be a highly motivated and innovative technical professional who can build strong stakeholder relationships, provide high-quality support and take a balanced, informed approach to complex problem solving. You’ll be organised, adaptable and able to manage competing demands while delivering outcomes under pressure.


To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:


  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • At least 5 years’ practical experience working with information systems within the IT industry, including intermediate Microsoft SQL database administration and development skills.
  • Experience with web services, API integration, TechnologyOne integrations, REST/SOAP services, authentication methods and enterprise system interoperability.
  • Experience with JSON, XML, Python, modern development frameworks, Git, Microsoft Azure, DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship, customer-focused technical support, organisational, prioritisation and process improvement skills.
