Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity


We're looking for an experienced Site Traffic Management Specialist (STMS) to join our Rotokawa team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader who is passionate about delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality Traffic Management solutions while supporting and developing their crew.


As an STMS, you'll play a key role in leading traffic management operations across Category A and B sites, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with NZGTTM requirements. You'll build strong relationships with clients and team members while championing a culture of Zero Harm.


Some of the things you'll be doing include:


  • Leading and monitoring Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) sites
  • Conducting daily crew briefings, tailgates, and safety discussions
  • Ensuring Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) are implemented and maintained correctly
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing Traffic Management team members
  • Building positive relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Reporting and managing hazards, incidents, and safety concerns
  • Completing site documentation and ensuring compliance requirements are met
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service
  • Working a mixture of day and night shifts, with weekend work available
  • Supervise and mentor traffic crews, including TMOs, TTM Workers and other STMS team members.
  • Ensure all HSE procedures are followed and promote safe use of tools, vehicles, and equipment.

To be successful in this role, you'll have:


  • Current STMS Category A/B Practising Qualification
  • Full Class 2 Driver Licence
  • Previous experience managing Traffic Management sites
  • Strong knowledge of NZGTTM requirements and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience coaching and mentoring team members
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership and responsibility
  • A genuine commitment to Zero Harm and safe work practices
  • Experience with, or willingness to learn, MyTTM systems
