Job Description

Be Your Best at BDO

At BDO, our culture is built on strong relationships, collaboration and trust. As one of the world's leading accounting and advisory organisations, we help businesses and individuals achieve their goals through practical advice, genuine partnerships and exceptional service.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Digital Adoption & AI Enablement Lead to join our National IT team in Auckland and help our Partners and people realise greater value from BDO's technology investments.

You'll lead practical, network-wide initiatives that improve how people use our current and future technology stack. A key focus will be owning the training, communications, readiness and change workstream for the National AI Programme, including strengthening and enabling our AI Champions network.

This is an influential role for someone who can connect technology, people and business outcomes. You'll work across business and technology teams to turn new tools and ways of working into measurable improvements in productivity, consistency, user experience and realised value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a network-wide digital adoption roadmap aligned with business priorities, the National IT strategy and planned technology change.
  • Engage with Partners, leaders, system owners and users to identify friction, capability gaps and opportunities to improve productivity through better use of technology.
  • Design and lead targeted adoption initiatives, including role-based learning, coaching, communications, demonstrations, user communities and rollout support.
  • Lead the training, communications, readiness and change management workstream for the National AI Programme.
  • Lead and strengthen the AI Champions network by setting clear expectations, providing resources and coaching, and facilitating regular forums.
  • Partner with the AI Programme Manager, AI delivery team and business leaders to support pilots and rollouts, gather feedback and share proven use cases.
  • Promote safe and responsible AI practices and help embed approved ways of working across the network.
  • Define and monitor adoption measures, using usage, confidence, behaviour and benefits insights to prioritise action and report progress.
  • Create practical resources, playbooks, user guides, videos and knowledge content that enable self-service and sustained adoption.
  • Provide change and adoption expertise across projects from discovery through to post-implementation review.

Experience and Attributes

You'll be an outcome-focused and pragmatic change leader who can build credibility across technical and business audiences and turn complex concepts into clear, practical action.

You'll likely bring:

  • Proven experience leading digital adoption, organisational change, technology enablement or transformation initiatives across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience leading Champions, Super Users, change networks or communities of practice and enabling others to influence adoption locally.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and modern workplace technology, with a practical understanding of AI adoption, responsible use and emerging change impacts.
  • Strong change management, facilitation, coaching, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience defining success measures and using qualitative and quantitative insights to assess adoption and realised benefits.
  • The ability to translate complex technology concepts into clear, business-focused guidance and action.
  • A resilient, organised and collaborative approach, with the ability to lead multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.

Why BDO?

At BDO, we'll make your growth our priority. You'll join a connected national network where your work will directly shape how our people use technology and AI to work more effectively, confidently and responsibly.

In return, you'll enjoy:

  • A highly visible role influencing digital adoption and AI enablement across BDO New Zealand.
  • The opportunity to shape practical, responsible and people-centred ways of working with emerging technology.
  • Close collaboration with National IT, the AI Programme team, business leaders and change networks across the country.
  • The scope to build communities, resources and capability that create sustained business value.
  • A collaborative, values-led environment with strong local and national relationships.
  • Competitive remuneration and employee benefits.

If you're passionate about helping people adopt technology with confidence and can turn change strategy into practical, measurable outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
