Customer Service Specialist – part-time, fixed-term


Position Description


  • Shift work – 24/7 (will include weekends and public holidays)
  • Part-time – either 40 or 50 hours per fortnight
  • Fixed Term to 30 April 2027, Kaiwharawhara Ferry Terminal, Wellington

He whakamārama mo te tūranga mahi | About the role:


Join our team at the Kaiwharawhara Ferry Terminal on a part-time, fixed-term basis to 30 April 2027.


You’ll not only provide exceptional customer service delivery to our passengers, you’ll also:


  • Coordinate passengers and their bookings
  • Assist with ticketing and check-in services for both passengers, their vehicles and commercial vehicles
  • Ensure passenger’s luggage is well looked after and properly labelled
  • Provide general travel advice and information to our passengers


We are looking for people with exceptional customer service skills and a can-do attitude who are passionate about the service they deliver.

  • Be able to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a strong customer focus with the ability to relate to people at all levels
  • Have a sense of urgency and work with speed and accuracy
  • Be a great problem solver
  • Maintain your composure and help keep passengers calm in high stress situations
  • Have impeccable attention to detail and a talent for multi-tasking
  • Have exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a moderate level of physical fitness as some lifting of passenger's luggage is required
