Join MetFlex , Metlifecare's dedicated casual team, and pick up Kitchen Hand and/or Cleaner shifts across our retirement villages. Choose the shifts that suit you, gain new skills, and enjoy the support of a team that's with you every step of the way.

About the role

As part of our casual pool, you'll have the opportunity to work as a Kitchen Hand , Cleaner , or both, depending on your experience, skills, and availability.

You'll help create welcoming, safe, and comfortable environments for our residents by:


  • Supporting meal preparation and kitchen service
  • Keeping kitchens, dining areas, and village spaces clean and hygienic
  • Following food safety, health, and cleaning standards
  • Working closely with friendly, supportive teams
  • Treating every resident with warmth, dignity, and respect
  • Every shift makes a real difference.

About you


You'll be someone who enjoys helping others and takes pride in doing a great job.

You'll also bring:


  • A positive, reliable, team-focused attitude
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Good fitness for hands-on work
  • Previous kitchen, cleaning, hospitality, or care experience is an advantage
  • Food Handling, Hygiene, First Aid, or similar certifications are a bonus
  • Excellent personal presentation
  • The legal right to work in New Zealand
