The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a commercially astute and experienced Commercial Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team. This is a broad, high-impact role reporting directly to the General Manager, with accountability for shaping and driving the company's commercial direction.

If you're an experienced leader who thrives on variety equally comfortable negotiating a complex contract, steering an HR process, or mapping out a business improvement initiative this role offers genuine breadth and influence.

The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will provide leadership across a wide portfolio of functions, including:

  • Commercial & procurement - contracts, tenders, supplier and logistics management
  • Legal - managing legal support, disputes, agreements and compliance
  • Human resources - hands-on HR including recruitment support, employment agreements, training systems and performance
  • IT & business systems - reviewing, recommending and implementing technology improvements
  • Marketing - overseeing website, trade literature, advertising and industry presence
  • Business risk - identifying exposure, managing mitigations and the annual insurance review

You'll be a key voice in strategic planning and annual business planning, and a sponsor of continuous improvement across the organisation.

About You

You are a collaborative, outcomes-focused leader who leads by example and brings others along. You will likely offer:

  • Proven experience in a broad commercial or general management role
  • Strong capability across contracts, procurement and legal/compliance functions
  • HR leadership experience - you're comfortable with the full employment lifecycle
  • An analytical, improvement-oriented mindset
  • Excellent relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders
  • Commitment to health and safety as a leader
  • Experience in the extractives or construction industry would be desirable
