Incredible Pools Ltd is the licensed agent for Mayfair Pools & Spas, New Zealand's leading custom fibreglass pool company since 1973. We design and construct bespoke, on-site fibreglass pools throughout South Auckland and the Coromandel, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding customer service.


As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Pool Builder / Landscaper to join our team.


About the role


This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll lead a crew of tradespeople and labourers, turning the Site Supervisor's plans into organised, productive daily work.


You'll coordinate the crew, allocate tasks, monitor quality and keep work on schedule. This is not a desk-based supervisory role - you'll lead by example and work alongside your crew on the tools, demonstrating the right techniques and standards while keeping the team focused and productive.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Leading and coordinating tradespeople, apprentices and labourers on site
  • Assigning daily tasks and ensuring work is correctly sequenced
  • Working alongside the crew and demonstrating required techniques and standards
  • Monitoring productivity and workmanship throughout the day
  • Running daily toolbox talks and ensuring safe work practices are followed
  • Checking work against drawings, specifications and required quality standards
  • Identifying and correcting quality or safety issues before they escalate
  • Monitoring material usage and ensuring tools and equipment are maintained
  • Keeping daily work aligned with the overall project schedule
  • Reporting delays, bottlenecks or site issues to the Site Supervisor
  • Acting as the link between the crew and Site Supervisor/Project Manager
  • Maintaining daily activity records, timesheets and material dockets
  • Inducting new workers and subcontractors to site rules and hazards


About you


We're looking for someone who leads by example, takes ownership of their work and enjoys delivering quality outcomes. You'll have a strong work ethic, be dependable, safety-focused and confident directing a crew while remaining hands-on.


You'll bring:


  • Minimum 3-5 years' relevant trade experience, including previous lead-hand or crew-lead experience
  • A recognised trade qualification relevant to construction work
  • Site Safe certification or relevant Health & Safety qualifications
  • Working knowledge of relevant building codes and construction methods
  • The ability to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong verbal communication and people-leadership skills
  • A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
  • A sharp eye for quality and safety
  • The ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure


Experience in the swimming pool industry would be an advantage but is not essential. If you've successfully led a construction or trade crew in another environment, we'd like to hear from you.


Applicants must be based in South Auckland or the surrounding area. As our projects are primarily located throughout South Auckland and the Coromandel, living locally is important to minimise travel time and support efficient project delivery.
