Hatchery Process Workers – Bell Block

OneStaff New Plymouth is a leading provider of temporary and permanent staffing solutions for a wide range of industrial clients across the region


We are currently seeking Hatchery Process Workers for our client located in Bell Block. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of New Zealand’s leading poultry producers

As a Hatchery Process Worker, you’ll play an important role in processing quality day-old chicks while maintaining high standards of biosecurity, hygiene, food safety, and animal welfare


Shift Patterns Available:

  • Mon – Fri, 2:00pm – 10:30pm
  • Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, 6:30am – 5:00pm


Duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Perform physical tasks including bending, crouching, climbing ladders/stairs, reaching, lifting, standing, walking, and repetitive work.
  • Inspect and clean machinery, equipment, and hatchery areas to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Work safely in cold, wet, damp, and slippery conditions while wearing required PPE, including hearing protection.
  • Complete general room set-up for the Injected Side (WholeBirds), including preparing work areas, moving pallets, setting up boxes, trolleys, and equipment, and printing labels/IDs; may also prepare boxes for the Non-Injected Side.
  • Carry out picking, packing, boxing, and other production/process tasks as required.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably requested.


Requirements:

  • Full Class 1 licence and reliable transport
  • Biosecurity awareness/commitment to Health and Safety
  • Genuine concern for animal welfare and experience with livestock
  • Reliable and hardworking attitude
  • Physically fit and capable of manual work

  • Valid ID (Passport OR NZ Birth Certificate plus Driver’s Licence)
  • 2x Work or Character references
  • Commitment to showing up and getting the job done
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
