Job Description

Our client are looking for a Data Platform Lead to lift standards and governance across the board!

Data Platform Lead to take technical ownership of their data platforms and lift standards and governance across the board.


This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You'll be running and leading the data platforms day to day, working across Snowflake and other data platforms, while setting the governance standards that make the whole environment easier and safer for users.


About the Role

Reporting into the data leadership team, you'll take technical ownership of the data platforms, working closely with the data engineering team and the wider business to keep platforms reliable, well governed and genuinely easy to use.


Key Responsibilities

  • Run and lead data platforms, with Snowflake as the primary platform alongside other data platforms in use
  • Set and enforce governance standards, access, security, data quality and usage standards across the platforms
  • Enhance and simplify platforms to make them easier for business users to work with
  • Build and maintain reporting and analytics capability, including Power BI
  • Drive stakeholder relationships and act as the technical authority on platform standards and best practice
  • Coach and guide engineers and analysts on platform standards and governance

What You'll Need

  • Strong technical experience running and leading data platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and other modern data platforms
  • Experience with Power BI or similar reporting/BI tools
  • A track record of setting and embedding governance standards, security, access, data quality and usage
  • Experience enhancing or simplifying platforms to improve the user experience for business users
  • Analytics engineering best practice: Git workflows, testing, documentation, CI/CD
  • Proven stakeholder management skills and a genuine mentoring mindset
  • Full NZ work rights required
