Hei Oranga Iwi | The opportunity

As EY continues to grow its Corporate Tax practice, we are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our team in Auckland. You will work with a diverse portfolio of organisations, including leading NZX-listed companies, privately owned businesses and multinational groups investing in New Zealand.

This is an opportunity to take a senior role in strengthening client relationships, delivering high-quality tax outcomes and supporting the continued growth of our practice. Working closely with senior leaders across New Zealand, Oceania and EY’s global tax network, you will contribute your technical expertise, commercial perspective and leadership capability within a collaborative and inclusive team. Experience within the financial services sector would be valuable.

Ko Tō Rourou | Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Manager, you will lead significant client engagements and provide practical, commercially focused advice across a broad range of corporate tax matters. You will also play an important role in developing our people, connecting clients with the wider capabilities of EY and contributing to the continued growth of the Corporate Tax practice.

  • Lead the delivery of corporate tax advisory and compliance engagements, maintaining strong oversight of quality, risk, commercial outcomes and client expectations across multiple projects.
  • Build and maintain trusted senior client relationships, acting as a key point of contact and supporting clients with corporate tax matters, Inland Revenue engagements and evolving business requirements.
  • Bring together EY’s specialist capabilities by collaborating with teams across government incentives, indirect tax, international tax and transfer pricing, tax controversy, transactions, employment tax and global mobility.
  • Contribute to the growth and capability of the practice through business development, market insight and innovation, while coaching and supporting team members within an inclusive and high-performing environment

Ngā Pūkenga | Skills and attributes for success

You will bring well-developed corporate tax experience, sound judgement and the ability to turn complex technical matters into clear and practical advice. Success in this role will also require an inclusive leadership approach, strong relationship-management capability and an interest in contributing to the broader growth of the practice.

  • Substantial corporate tax experience gained within professional services or a large corporate environment, with experience in financial services considered advantageous.
  • Strong technical and commercial capability, including the ability to interpret complex tax matters, identify relevant considerations and communicate advice clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engagements and developing others, with the ability to manage competing priorities, support quality outcomes and foster collaboration across diverse teams.
  • A relationship-focused and growth-oriented approach, with the confidence to build trusted networks, identify opportunities and work effectively across service lines, locations and EY’s global network.
