  • Ensure intelligence learning is operationally relevant, evidence-based, lawful and aligned with Police priorities, policies and professional standards.
  • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team, building sustainable trainer, assessor and facilitator capability through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
  • Translate intelligence strategy, emerging methodologies, technology and operational requirements into effective learning solutions.
  • Build strategic partnerships and communities of practice that promote innovation, consistency and excellence in intelligence training and professional development.
  • Maintain robust governance, moderation, assessment and evaluation processes, while advising leaders on capability gaps, delivery risks and workforce development priorities.

He aha taau e kawe mai | What you’ll bring

Whilst we are looking for skills, knowledge and experience relevant to the role, we also place high importance on your state of mind, the alignment of your values with ours, your ability to contribute to and build high performing teams, and the way that you lead yourself or others.

  • Operational intelligence experience, advanced tradecraft expertise and strong professional credibility.
  • Proven leadership of people, programmes or professional practice in complex operational environments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of intelligence methodologies, analysis and contemporary capability development.
  • Experience leading learning, assessment, facilitation or workplace development programmes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the credibility to influence senior leaders and provide trusted advice.
  • Strategic judgement and a demonstrated commitment to developing others, fostering inclusive teams and improving professional practice.
