Job Description

We’re on the lookout for a reliable and hands-on Groundskeeper to join a dedicated team maintaining one of Auckland’s most loved public spaces.


What you’ll be doing:


This is a true outdoor and physically active role, keeping the grounds safe, tidy and looking their best for the thousands of daily visitors. You’ll be on your feet for much of the day and need to be comfortable with regular physical work.


Tasks include but not limited to:


  • Litter picking and general waste management
  • Lawn mowing and leaf blowing
  • Basic plant care and weed control
  • General physical grounds and maintenance work
  • Lifting and moving items weighing up to 20kg


Details:


  • Start: ASAP – December, with potential to extend
  • Location: Western Springs
  • Hours: 7am – 3:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday
  • Driver licence: A full, New Zealand driver licence is required
  • You must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen with a clear result
  • $29.90 per hour + 8% holiday pay

You’ll need to have:


  • A proactive, can-do attitude
  • The ability to carry out physical work outdoors and be on your feet throughout the day
  • Great customer service skills, as you’ll be working in public areas and may be approached by visitors
  • Some grounds or outdoor maintenance experience, ideal but not essential as we can teach the rest
  • A collaborative and respectful approach to working in a close-knit team
