The Opportunity


The magic combo - hands-on developer who enjoys working across traditional software engineering, Microsoft Power Platform and emerging AI technologies.


We're looking for a versatile Digital Solutions Engineer to join an established New Zealand business investing in modernising its technology environment.


This is an opportunity to work across a varied technology landscape, combining Node.js application development and support with Power Platform solutions, workflow automation and Microsoft Copilot initiatives.


You'll have the freedom to solve real business problems, work closely with stakeholders and help shape how modern technologies are adopted across the organisation.


Role:


  • Develop, enhance and support existing business applications, primarily using Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Design, build and maintain solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate and associated technologies.
  • Explore and implement practical AI solutions, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and AI agents.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Build and support application integrations, APIs and Azure-based services.
  • Maintain good development practices across source control, testing, deployment, security and application governance.
  • Troubleshoot production applications and continuously improve existing systems and workflows.


You


You'll ideally have around 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a combination of software development and Microsoft Power Platform capability.


We're particularly interested in candidates who bring:


  • Hands-on experience developing solutions using Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Software development experience with Node.js, JavaScript or TypeScript, ideally with React or Express.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI agents or similar business-focused AI technologies.
  • Experience working with APIs, integrations, SQL databases and Azure-based application services.
  • An understanding of software development practices, Git, CI/CD and application lifecycle management.
  • The ability to independently investigate problems, develop solutions and support applications in production.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with business users.


Experience with Dataverse, Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Azure Functions or Logic Apps would be advantageous.


You don't need to be an expert in every technology. We're looking for someone with solid development fundamentals, practical Power Platform experience and a genuine interest in how AI can improve business processes.


This role would suit a practical, self-motivated engineer who enjoys both coding and finding smarter ways to solve business challenges.
