Civil Labourer – Concrete Finishing or Asphalt Experience

Ready to get stuck into hands-on civil construction work? We’re looking for a reliable Civil Labourer with practical concrete finishing or asphalt experience to join a busy crew delivering quality projects across the Dunedin area.


About the Role

You’ll support a civil construction team across a range of site activities. The work may include preparing and placing concrete, finishing surfaces, supporting asphalt preparation and laying, and completing general labouring duties. You’ll need to be safety-conscious, physically fit, and comfortable working outdoors in changing conditions.


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assisting with concrete pours, screeding, levelling, edging and finishing
  • Supporting asphalt preparation, laying, raking and compaction work
  • Preparing worksites, materials, tools and equipment
  • Completing general civil labouring, clean-up and traffic-aware site tasks
  • Following site instructions, safety procedures and quality standards
  • Working effectively with operators, tradespeople and the wider crew


What We’re Looking For

  • Previous civil construction experience, ideally in concrete finishing or asphalt
  • A strong work ethic, good attendance and a positive attitude
  • Good physical fitness and confidence with hands-on work
  • A clear understanding of workplace health and safety
  • Reliable transport and the ability to get to work on time
  • A full Class 1 driver licence is preferred
  • Site Safe, ConstructSafe, WTR endorsements or additional licences are an advantage
  • Ability to pass pre-employment checks where required
