Intermediate/Senior Structural Engineer

Tauranga Central, Bay of Plenty

$80,000 – $115,000 per year


The Company


Is a well-established structural design firm with a diverse workload who due to continued growth are looking for an Intermediate/Senior Structural Design Engineer to join their growing consultancy in Tauranga.


They have a diverse and ever-expanding workload including residential, commercial, civil and industrial projects.


The job involves all aspects of the project lifecycle, from meeting with clients and discussing initial design options, concept design, detailed design and drafting work, through to site investigations, site assistance and observation.

The Role

  • Structural design for high end residential design
  • Structural design on everything from house beams and foundations to industrial buildings, commercial premises and seismic assessments & strengthening
  • Preparing fee proposals for potential projects
  • Site assessments including scala penetrometer testing, soakage testing and site suitability
  • Working both independently and collaboratively on a range of projects
  • Carrying out site inspections and site observation, meeting with clients and contractors on site


About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (Washington Accord) ideally from Canterbury, Auckland or Waikato
  • Experience working on high end residential projects
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Have sound report writing and communications skills
  • Previous experience working in a New Zealand based design consultancy
  • Experience liaising and working with contractors, architects and other consultants
