Rosella is a Mediterranean-inspired wine bar in Mount Victoria, Wellington, offering a curated wine list, seasonal Mediterranean cuisine, and high-quality customer service. We are seeking an experienced Manager to run the day-to-day operation of the venue and lead front-of-house service.



Hours of Work


* Guaranteed minimum of 35 hours per week, up to 45 hours per week, depending on business requirements.

* Work is on a rotating roster from Tuesday to Sunday, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.



Pay


* NZ$28.00 – NZ$33.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.



Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities


-Planning menus in consultation with Chefs

-Planning and organising special functions

-Arranging the purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget

-Overseeing all cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation, and reporting.

-Maintaining records of stock levels and financial transactions

-Ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance

-Maintain strong knowledge of the wine list, including grape varieties, wine regions, styles, and vintages.

-Selecting, training and supervising waiting and kitchen staff

-May take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders.

-Spend time on the floor connecting with guests, gathering feedback, and making sure every visit feels personal and memorable.

-Conferring with customers to assess their satisfaction with meals and service, and resolve customer enquiries and complaints.



Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications


Applicants must have:


* A minimum of three years’ relevant hospitality experience, including supervisory or management experience.

* Strong knowledge of wine, including grape varieties, wine regions, styles, and food and wine pairing.

* Experience working in a restaurant, wine bar, or similar premium hospitality environment.

* Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

* A current New Zealand Duty Manager’s Certificate, or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
