He angitūtanga / The opportunity:


We are looking for multiple enthusiastic Casual Kitchen Assistants to join our team at Auckland City Hospital in Grafton. Hours of work are as and when required, with no guaranteed weekly hours. You will help deliver quality food services for patients, customers, and staff while maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, and service standards.


Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:


In this position;


  • You will be working as part of a team serving food on the trayline
  • Assisting with general kitchen and cleaning duties.
  • Serve and portion food on the trayline while following dietary requirements
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, crockery, and kitchen equipment
  • Assist with basic food preparation, plating, and presentation
  • Maintain clean, tidy, and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
  • Respond to customer requests professionally and promptly
  • Follow all food safety, health and safety, and site procedures

If you're our ideal candidate;


  • You will be hard working, with a friendly outgoing personality and a 'can do' attitude.
  • Ideally you will already have some experience working in a commercial kitchen, hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167).
  • You will have superior customer service skills
  • Most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
