Job Description

Commercial Carpenter

Tradestaff is looking for a qualified Commercial Carpenter to join a reputable Christchurch client with a strong pipeline of projects across the Central City. Bring your skills, quality workmanship and get stuck into varied commercial work.


Location: Central City, Christchurch

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $32–$36 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You’ll Be DoingComplete commercial framing and structural carpentry
  • Carry out fit-out and finishing work across commercial projects
  • Install doors, hardware, fixtures and other building components
  • Read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications
  • Measure, cut, assemble and install materials accurately
  • Complete alterations and general commercial carpentry as required
  • Work alongside other trades to help keep projects progressing efficiently
  • What We’re Looking ForRelevant carpentry qualification
  • Proven experience working on commercial construction projects
  • Strong understanding of commercial building methods and materials
  • Confidence reading and working from plans and specifications
  • Ability to complete work accurately to a high standard
  • Good understanding of construction-site health and safety
  • Reliable, practical and able to work effectively as part of a site team
