Job Description

Brush Hand / Painter – Hawke’s Bay


Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay is looking for experienced Brush Hands and Painters to join busy crews working across a range of commercial and residential projects.


You’ll be involved in everything from new builds through to renovation and refurbishment work, so we’re after people who know their way around a paintbrush, take pride in a tidy finish, and can keep up on a busy site.


  • What you’ll be doing:Interior and exterior painting
  • Commercial and residential projects
  • New build painting and finishing work
  • Renovations and refurbishment projects
  • Surface preparation, sanding, filling and masking
  • Brush and roller application
  • Cutting in and finishing work
  • Applying primers, undercoats and top coats
  • Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe
  • Working alongside painters, builders and other trades
  • What we’re looking for:Previous painting or brush hand experience
  • Commercial and/or residential painting experience
  • Experience across new builds and renovations
  • Confident with preparation, brush and roller work
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your finish
  • Reliable with a solid work ethic
  • Able to work independently and as part of a crew
  • Reliable transport to get yourself to work
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test
