Job Description
Position Purpose:
The Planning, Governance and Resource Management practice is responsible for coordinating financial and resource planning across the department, providing management and governance reporting, overseeing IT-specific vendor/supplier engagement and contracts, supporting IT licence management, and coordinating IT asset
management.
The Senior Analyst – Software Asset Management is responsible for the operational oversight and lifecycle management of related agreements and Software Asset Management (SAM) processes. The purpose of this role is to ensure all University ICT agreements and the products and services they deliver are managed effectively to ensure compliance and performance, meet service requirements, reduce costs and maximise value of investments.
The Senior Analyst – Software Asset Management applies tools and techniques to manage and report on the software assets and licenses in use across the University.
They will manage the lifecycle of software assets and ensure software is licenced appropriately to meet demand whist managing costs. The Senior Analyst – Software Asset Management will respond to requests from end users relating to software assets and agreements and will act as a regular contact with suppliers to and assist with resolution of
supply and contract issues.

Accountabilities
Supplier Management (SUPP) Level 4 Aligning the organisation’s supplier performance objectives and activities with sourcing strategies and plans, balancing costs,
efficiencies and service quality.
- Collects supplier performance data and investigates problems.
- Monitors and reports on supplier performance, customer satisfaction, adherence to security requirements and market intelligence.
- Validates that suppliers' performance is in accordance with contract terms.
- Engages proactively and collaboratively with suppliers to resolve incidents, problems, or unsatisfactory performance.
- Implements supplier management-related service improvement initiatives and programmes.
Asset Management (ASMG) Level 4
- Controls assets in one or more significant areas ensuring that administration of full life cycle of assets is carried out.
Managing the full life cycle of assets from acquisition, operation, maintenance to disposal.
- Produces and analyses registers and histories of authorised assets and verifies that all these assets are in a known state and location.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications:
- A tertiary qualification in an IT or Business Management subject, or equivalent extensive industry experience.
- Industry recognised certification in IT Service Management at a foundation or higher level.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience in an IT or IT-related position with experience in software asset and license management.
- Familiarity with tools and practices that support Software Asset Management.
