Job Description

Company description

RENCO is a New Zealand biotech company producing natural enzymes and has done so for more than 100 years. 100% New Zealand-owned and operated, RENCO is a proud member of the Talley’s Group, New Zealand’s leading exporter of meat, dairy, seafood, and vegetable products.

Job Description

We're looking for a highly organised, detail-focused Production Planner to join our team in Eltham, Taranaki. This is a new role as part of RENCO's growth as we move to a modern, automated processing line and a new factory, so it's a great time to join.

You'll plan, schedule and control powder production on site. You'll turn customer orders and reserve stock needs into a production, blending, packing and dispatch plan that the site can deliver. You'll also issue the instructions powder production works to, and keep the production, batch and inventory records accurate. You'll work closely with the Extraction Supervisor and the Processing & Powder Production Supervisor, and you'll report to the General Manager.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Preparing and issuing the weekly and daily production plan, including freeze drier capacity, to meet customer orders in full and on time.
  • Preparing and issuing blend instructions, standardisation specifications, pack-off sheets and label requests for each batch.
  • Planning the dispatch schedule, issuing packing instructions and reconciling product packed against production records before it leaves site.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory records for raw materials, liquid work-in-progress, finished powder, packaging and consumables.
  • Planning, leading and reconciling monthly and periodic stocktakes, and investigating and resolving any inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintaining the make book and batch data so that volumes, weights and conversions reconcile across all records.
  • Preparing production, inventory and yield reports for the General Manager and Head Office.
  • Working with the Compliance Manager to make sure documentation supports RMP, HACCP, Halal, MPI and customer traceability requirements.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must have the following:

  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, inventory control or a similar role in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including advanced spreadsheet skills and experience using an ERP or inventory management system.

While not a requirement, preference will be given to applicants with experience in a regulated manufacturing environment with batch traceability requirements (RMP, HACCP, GMP or pharmaceutical), experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a similar ERP, and an understanding of enzyme, dairy or biosourced manufacturing.
