Job Type: Permanent / Full-time


We’re looking for a Counter Sales / Store Person to join a busy engineering-focused business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys dealing with customers, keeping things organised and getting stuck into a hands-on role.



What you'll be doing:


  • Serving customers at the counter and providing friendly, knowledgeable service
  • Processing sales, orders and customer enquiries
  • Providing product advice and helping customers find the right products
  • Dispatching and receiving gas tanks/cylinders
  • Checking incoming and outgoing gas tanks and ensuring they are correctly recorded
  • Coordinating gas tank movements and deliveries
  • Picking, packing and dispatching customer orders
  • Receiving and checking incoming stock
  • Maintaining accurate stock records
  • Loading and unloading goods when required
  • Keeping the store and warehouse organised and tidy
  • Assisting with general store and warehouse duties
  • Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Supporting the wider team to keep the day-to-day operation running smoothly



What we're looking for:


  • Previous experience in counter sales, trade sales, stores or warehousing
  • Engineering, mechanical, industrial or trade industry knowledge would be a big advantage
  • Experience handling or managing gas cylinders/tanks would be advantageous
  • Confident dealing with customers and suppliers
  • Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when recording stock and gas tank movements
  • Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
  • Current forklift license would be advantageous
  • A practical, can-do attitude
  • Reliable, organised and able to work well as part of a team
