Ventia is on the hunt for TWO experienced Electrical Design Estimator's to join our Electricity & Gas team in Hamilton . This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial insight to deliver innovative electrical design solutions and competitive project estimates across a range of power infrastructure projects. Based on the information in Electrical Design Estimator - ENR - Waikato, the role focuses on electrical design, estimating, tendering and supporting successful project delivery.

About the Role


As an Electrical Design Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and commercially sound estimates, tenders, quotations and project variations. You'll develop practical electrical designs, review project requirements, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project teams, clients and stakeholders, you'll help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.


Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare electrical estimates, tenders and quotations for power projects
  • Develop compliant and fit-for-purpose electrical designs
  • Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation
  • Identify project risks, opportunities and pricing methodologies
  • Support project planning, mobilisation and delivery activities
  • Prepare design documentation, tender submissions and handover packs
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and project teams


About You


  • 5 years' experience in electrical design, estimating, project delivery or a related field
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contracts
  • Commercial awareness and estimating experience
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Electrical trade qualification or equivalent industry experience
  • Current Class 1 NZ Driver Licence
  • NZ Electrical Registration and current Practising Licence
  • CAD/AutoCAD experience
  • SAP experience
