Te tūranga | The role:


We have an awesome opportunity for a Customer Specialist to join the friendly team at our Paraparaumu Advice Centre.


This is a permanent, part-time position working 18 paid hours per week across four days. This role has a fixed roster, so you’ll need to be available to work the following hours:


  • Monday: 8:15am – 2:00pm
  • Tuesday: 8:15am – 2:00pm
  • Wednesday: Non-working day
  • Thursday: 11:00am – 3:00pm
  • Friday: 11:00am – 3:00pm


As a Customer Specialist, you’ll support customers with a broad range of banking queries and requests. With ASB offering a range of innovative digital banking solutions, you’ll also play an important role in helping customers understand and feel confident using the different banking options available to them.


No two days are quite the same. You’ll be connecting with a wide range of customers, asking the right questions to understand their needs and helping them find the banking solutions that work best for them.

We’re looking for someone who:


  • Brings a genuine passion for delivering great customer experiences
  • Is confident building relationships and connecting with people from all walks of life
  • Can learn quickly, adapt and respond positively in a busy environment
  • Is comfortable asking questions to understand what customers really need
  • Has the confidence to educate customers on digital and self-service banking options
  • Can commit to the fixed 18-hour part-time roster outlined above
  • Is keen to learn, develop and build their career with ASB


Previous banking experience isn’t essential. Strong customer service experience, curiosity and a willingness to learn will set you up well.
