BestStart Waikanae is looking for a passionate and dedicated Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our energetic, close-knit team. This is a permanent, part-time position working 20 hours per week across 3-5 days.

About You


We’re looking for a teacher who is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences and building strong relationships with tamariki and whānau.


You will have:


  • A Level 7 ECE qualification
  • Current New Zealand teacher registration
  • Confidence in facilitating responsive, child-led learning experiences
  • A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and bicultural practice
  • Sound knowledge of Te Whāriki, ECE regulations, and effective teaching practice
  • A collaborative, positive approach and a genuine passion for early childhood education
