Civil Works Labourer

Looking for a hands-on civil role where you can get stuck in and build your experience? Tradestaff Queenstown is looking for a reliable Civil Works Labourer to join a local crew working across earthworks, drainage and roading projects around Queenstown.


Location: Queenstown Central, Queenstown

Start date: Immediate start available

Pay rate: $27–$30 per hour, depending on experience


  • What you'll be doingAssisting with earthworks, trenching and drainage preparation
  • Shovelling, raking and compacting soil and aggregate
  • Preparing ground and work areas for roading and civil works
  • Spotting for excavators, loaders and other machinery
  • Assisting machine operators and civil crews on site
  • Moving materials, setting up work areas and keeping sites clear
  • Following site health and safety procedures around operating machinery
  • What we're looking forFull Class 1 driver licence – required
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Previous civil, construction or outdoor labouring experience preferred
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
  • Reliable with a good attitude towards health and safety
  • WTR endorsements are a bonus
  • Site Safe and other relevant tickets are an advantage
