Gary Cockram Nelson Ltd is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Sales Consultant to join our growing team.

No previous vehicle sales experience is required - we'll provide the training and support to help you succeed.


About the Role


Working alongside our experienced Sales Consultants and Branch Manager, you'll gain hands-on experience in dealership operations while learning the skills required to become a successful Sales Consultant.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Assisting the sales team with customer enquiries, vehicle presentations and deliveries.
  • Maintaining the presentation of our new and used vehicles, showroom and sales yard.
  • Preparing vehicles for display, test drives and customer handovers.
  • Learning about our vehicle brands, products and the sales process.
  • Supporting vehicle photography, online listings and stock management.
  • Developing your customer service and sales skills through ongoing training and mentoring.


This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in the day-to-day running of the dealership while progressively developing your sales knowledge and confidence.


About You


We're looking for someone who:


  • Has a genuine interest in cars and the automotive industry.
  • Is enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn.
  • Takes pride in their work and has great attention to detail.
  • Enjoys meeting people and providing excellent customer service.
  • Has a positive attitude and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
  • Can work independently and as part of a team.
  • Holds a driver's licence, preferably a full New Zealand licence.


You don't need to be young to be a Sales Trainee! We welcome applications from people at any stage of their working life. Whether you're entering the workforce, bringing experience from another industry, or looking for a fresh challenge, we value the skills and experience you can bring.


Previous experience in retail, hospitality, customer service or sales would be an advantage, but is not essential.
