THE GIG:


RB Recruitment is proud to be building multiple surfacing crews for our client again this spring. WE ARE LOOKING FOR:


  • Class 2, 4 and 5 drivers – operate broom truck, spreaders, carting asphalt and chipseal etc.
  • Skilled labourers with WTR – assisting with surfacing, operate machinery like rollers, broom truck (Class 2)
  • Chip Runner (Class 2) – co-ordinate the trucks and crew, which truck is going where, to do what and when on site. Essentially a 2IC role – pathway to become foreman
  • Training provided for the right people - if you have a Class 2, 4, 5 or WTR licence but not a huge amount of civil experience, our client is keen to help you grow and develop. Training on offer to get you up to speed if you are looking to advance your career in civil!


You will be out with the maintenance crews, resurfacing and sealing roads around Canterbury. Permanent contracts will be handed to those who are consistent, get stuck in with the team and demonstrate ability on the sealing crew.


Sealing season is due to start in September, but if you’re available now, we’re ready! There will be some early mornings and staying away, with road maintenance needed from Timaru to Blenheim and across to the coast. All away expenses will be covered.

YOU'LL BRING:


  • A Class 2, 4 or 5 licence, and/or WTR endorsement
  • Experience in roading/sealing preferred
  • Ready to get stuck in and be rewarded for consisten mahi
  • Be Health and Safety conscious
  • You must pass a pre-employment drug screen
  • Understand the project will involve going away - you must be able to stay out of town
  • Present well and understand you're representing the client on the day
