Diesel Mechanic

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced NZ-qualified Diesel Mechanic in Christchurch to service, diagnose and repair trucks and heavy diesel vehicles. If you have strong mechanical skills, enjoy fault-finding and take pride in quality workmanship, we want to hear from you!


Location: Christchurch, Canterbury

Start date: Immediate

Pay rate: $38–$45 per hour + weekly pay


  • What You'll Be DoingService, maintain and repair trucks and heavy diesel vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs
  • Complete engine, gearbox and transmission repairs
  • Inspect and repair braking, steering and suspension systems
  • Diagnose and maintain hydraulic and mechanical components
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and routine servicing
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop safety
  • What We're Looking ForNZ-qualified Diesel Mechanic — essential
  • Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy diesel vehicles
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes and hydraulics
  • Confidence using workshop tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable transport
  • Reliable, safety-conscious and able to work independently
