Iplex Pipelines NZ is a leading manufacturer and supplier of plastic pipeline systems in New Zealand.  We manufacture and supply pipeline systems for a diverse range of applications covering water supply, sewerage, stormwater, irrigation, rural, energy, communications, and industrial.  Iplex has manufacturing facilities throughout NZ, enabling high service levels to our customers and dedicated markets.


About the Role

As Commercial Plumbing Manager, you will drive specification growth and end-user engagement across the commercial plumbing sector. Building strong relationships with architects, specifiers, developers, and key industry stakeholders, you will influence product selection on major commercial and infrastructure projects. Through CPD presentations, technical expertise, and industry engagement, you will secure specifications, grow market share, and strengthen our position as the preferred plumbing solutions partner.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive specification growth and execute strategic business development initiatives that expand our presence across the commercial plumbing market.
  • Deliver CPD presentations, technical training and specification support, while developing resources and tools that position Iplex as a trusted industry leader.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with architects, consultants, end users, merchants, commercial plumbing contractors and the Master Plumbers network to generate new opportunities and influence project outcomes.
  • Represent Iplex at industry conferences, trade shows and networking events to enhance brand awareness, strengthen industry partnerships and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with merchants and distribution partners to maximise project opportunities and drive the adoption of Iplex's commercial plumbing solutions from design through to installation.
  • Maintain a disciplined customer engagement programme and robust pipeline of specification and project opportunities across your territory.


About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially minded business development professional with proven experience in both specification and transactional sales, with a strong ability to drive and secure product specifications, influence design outcomes, and build strong relationships across the plumbing industry. You will have experience in engaging with architects, specifiers, developers, contractors and end users to drive and confidently influence product selection and creating sales opportunities that convert into sustainable sales outcomes.


You will bring:

  • 3-5+ years' experience in specification sales and business development within the plumbing, construction, building products, or infrastructure sectors.
  • A proven track record of securing specifications and influencing product selection on commercial and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience delivering CPD presentations and providing technical product guidance to architects, engineers, and specifiers.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decisionmakers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • A sound understanding of the specification process, project pipelines, and converting specifications into project wins.
  • Commercial acumen, analytical capability, and the ability to identify and capitalise on growth opportunities.
  • A proactive, results-driven approach with strong planning, forecasting, and account management skills.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Salesforce (or a similar CRM platform).
