We’re looking for a Swim School Recruitment and Training Administrator to join our dynamic team in both the Wanaka Recreation Centre and Queenstown Events Centre. This is a permanent part-time position and offers a rewarding opportunity to provide recruitment, training, and educate swimmers of all ages and abilities.


What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi


As the Swim School Recruitment and Training Administrator, you'll play a key role in supporting the smooth delivery of swim school operations across Queenstown and Wanaka. This varied role combines recruitment and onboarding administration, staff training coordination, customer service and swim instruction.


  • Provide recruitment and onboarding administration support for the Swim School team, working closely with the Swim School Manager and People and Capability team.
  • Coordinate staff training, inductions, mentoring, verification and training records to support a skilled and confident swim school workforce.
  • Support day-to-day swim school administration, including rosters, bookings, reporting, customer communications and student progress updates.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service
  • Instruct swimming lessons when required in line with the Swim School curriculum, adapting your approach to support participants of different ages, abilities and learning needs.
  • Contribute to safe, well-organised operations by following QLDC procedures, supporting health and safety practices and maintaining swim school equipment and pool spaces.

What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka


We’re looking for someone who brings together strong administration skills, swim teaching experience and a genuine passion for supporting people. You’ll be confident working with systems, communicating with families and staff, and helping create a positive, professional and inclusive swim school environment.


  • A recognised swim teaching qualification, such as AustSwim Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety or Swim Teacher Award, and Austswim Infant and Child is required and access and inclusion and competitive strokes qualifications is preferred.
  • Relevant administration and swim school instruction experience, ideally with strong knowledge of swim school operations, systems and customer service processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Strong organisation, computer literacy and attention to detail, including confidence using booking, reporting and roster systems.
  • A team-focused, proactive and professional approach, with a strong customer focus and the ability to support others through training, mentoring and problem solving.
