Smack bang in the middle of it all is Sweat Shop , the best Friday night bar around and live music venue to boot, packing one of the largest outdoor decks in Auckland and serving award-winning craft beer brewed on-site in Freemans Bay.


We're on the hunt for the next face of our iconic venue. Could it be you?


About the Role:

  • We're looking for a Business Leader who has a knack for mentoring and inspiring the people around you. You'll bring energy, passion, and a genuine love for hospitality.
  • You'll be an experienced motivator with a proven track record of leading by example in large-volume, multi-faceted venues and delivering exceptional, consistent service. With functions, live entertainment, and events at the heart of what we do, you'll thrive on creating memorable experiences and bringing the venue to life.
  • You know how to lead a diverse team, build a strong culture, and deliver solid financial results, with a clear understanding of what drives venue performance.


What You'll Bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years General Manager experience in high volume venues.
  • A passion for creating memorable guest experiences and building community through hospitality.
  • The ability to inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team.
  • A commercial mindset and confidence in managing budgets, labour, and P&L performance.


About You:

  • You're not just a manager, you're a leader. You thrive in fast-paced environments and love the buzz of a packed venue, a live band, and a busy Friday night service.
  • You lead from the front, build strong relationships, and know how to bring out the best in your team. You're organised, proactive, and always ready to roll up your sleeves to make things happen. Most importantly, you're passionate about creating a venue people want to return to time and time again.
