FDG is seeking a Technical Solutions Specialist to become the technical engine room behind our specification and project activity.


This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys solving problems, working with engineers and contractors, managing technical information and contributing to commercial success.


Working alongside the Technical Lead and Technical BDM, you'll play a key role in technical submissions, technical enquiries, product information management and project support. You'll gain exposure to engineering, construction, product development and specification sales within a role that offers genuine long-term career growth.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Lead, you'll be responsible for supporting FDG's technical and specification activities by:


  • Preparing technical submissions and specification proposals.

  • Responding to technical enquiries and RFIs.

  • Managing and maintaining technical product information and documentation.

  • Supporting project delivery and product development initiatives.

  • Identifying and qualifying commercial opportunities arising from technical activity.

  • Providing technical support to the Technical BDM, Sales Team and customers.


This role is a critical link between technical excellence and commercial success.


About You

Essential

  • 2-5 years' experience in a technical, engineering, construction or building products environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and technical documents.

  • Experience producing professional technical documentation.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.

  • Our head office is in Warkworth, this role in office based.


Desirable

  • NZDE (Civil or Structural), BEngTech or a related technical qualification.

  • Experience in technical support, technical sales support, estimating, draughting or project coordination.

  • Knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code and relevant standards.

  • Experience with PIM systems, HubSpot, CRM platforms or document control systems.

  • Familiarity with BIM and CAD resources.
