Join BestStart Dannemora as a Cook and bring your passion for food to a role where you can make a real difference in the lives of tamariki! We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Cook to prepare fresh, nutritious and delicious meals that support children’s growth, development and wellbeing.

If you enjoy creating tasty, balanced meals, take pride in keeping a clean and organised kitchen, and love being part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you. Experience in cooking, food preparation or an early childhood setting is preferred, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for providing great food for little people.

This is a permanent position working 35 hours per week Monday-Friday

Role requirements::

  • Knowledge around health and safety in the kitchen and set high standards of hygiene and housekeeping
  • Strong time‑management and organisational skills.
  • A passion for cooking and baking
  • An understanding of food safety, allergies and dietary requirements
  • Be computer literate in order to design menus and place orders each week
  • The ability to remain within the budgets for ordering food
  • A passion for promoting healthy eating for young children
