Job Description

Duties may include:

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing diesel vehicles, machinery and equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs
  • Completing routine servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Repairing and replacing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components as required
  • Keeping accurate records of servicing, repairs and maintenance
  • Following health and safety procedures


What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience working as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar heavy mechanical role
  • Good mechanical knowledge and confidence with fault finding
  • A practical, hands-on approach and strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
  • Ability to pass pre-employment checks if required


Preferred but not essential:

  • Relevant automotive or heavy diesel qualification
  • Full New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence
  • Heavy vehicle licence classes would be an advantage
  • W, T or F endorsements would be an advantage
  • Experience working on trucks, heavy machinery, construction or civil equipment
