Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineer (Stormwater)

Auckland Central, $85,000 - $130,000


The Company


Our client is a well-established civil engineering and land development consultancy known for delivering quality infrastructure outcomes across New Zealand.


As a result of continued growth, they are looking for an Intermediate or Senior Civil Engineer with a strong stormwater focus to join their Auckland team and support the delivery of varied land development and civil infrastructure projects.


The position provides the opportunity to manage projects from early concept through to construction, working alongside clients, councils, and internal project teams.


While the role can involve broader civil engineering design, proven experience in stormwater design and flood modelling will be particularly valuable.


This opportunity would suit an ambitious and capable engineer who is ready to take the next step within a growing consultancy.

The Role

  • Lead and deliver civil engineering design for land development and infrastructure projects, including stormwater management, hydraulic modelling, and infrastructure layouts
  • Coordinate project delivery with internal teams, clients, and local authorities
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design drawings
  • Conduct site inspections and support construction phase activities
  • Mentor and support junior engineers within the team


About You

  • 3-10 years' experience in civil engineering within New Zealand
  • Strong experience with AutoCAD / Civil 3D design software
  • Experience in stormwater design and hydraulic modelling, with HEC-HMS, TUFLOW and/or HEC-RAS
  • NZS 3910
  • Tertiary qualification (BE, BEngTech, NZDE or equivalent)
  • Good communication skills
  • Working independently and undertaking site inspections
