The Company

Our client is a well-established New Zealand organisation with operations across Australia and New Zealand and ambitious growth plans over the coming years.


Having invested heavily in technology and business transformation, they are looking to appoint an experienced IT Solution Product Owner to help prioritise demand, drive delivery outcomes and strengthen engagement between technology and the wider business.


This is a newly created role within a collaborative technology team and offers the opportunity to influence the direction of key business systems while working alongside senior business leaders.


The Role

This is a highly visible role that sits between business stakeholders, vendors and technology teams, ensuring priorities are understood, requirements are clearly defined and outcomes are successfully delivered.


You will play a key role in managing a growing portfolio of initiatives across a Microsoft-centric technology environment, helping the business make informed decisions, prioritise competing demands and maximise value from its technology investments.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with business leaders to understand, challenge and refine requirements.
  • Own and prioritise a pipeline of enhancements, projects and improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering and solution discussions.
  • Manage relationships with external technology vendors and delivery partners.
  • Drive backlog prioritisation and delivery planning through Azure DevOps.
  • Assess business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate UAT activities and support successful business adoption.
  • Evaluate impacts across ERP platforms, integrations, reporting and downstream systems.
  • Provide guidance on solution direction while balancing business needs, risk and delivery effort.

The work will range from small system improvements through to larger strategic initiatives spanning multiple months.


Your Profile

We're looking for someone who combines strong business engagement skills with a practical understanding of ERP and enterprise applications.


You may currently be working as a:

  • Product Owner
  • Senior Business Analyst
  • Functional Consultant
  • Applications Lead
  • Business Systems Specialist
  • Solution Owner

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Experience working within ERP environments, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent requirements gathering and business analysis capability.
  • The ability to influence and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong vendor management experience.
  • A pragmatic, outcome-focused approach to problem solving.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.

Experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure and related Microsoft technologies would be highly advantageous but is not essential.

More important is your ability to understand business challenges, ask the right questions and help stakeholders navigate the best path forward.
