Laminex is a trusted New Zealand manufacturer with a long history of producing quality building products. We're looking for a trade-qualified Industrial Electrician to join our Hamilton site and play a key role in maintaining the machinery and equipment that keeps our operation running safely and efficiently.


About the Role:


This is a hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys fault finding, troubleshooting industrial machinery, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where no two days are the same.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Diagnosing and repairing faults on production machinery and plant equipment.
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance to maximise uptime.
  • Troubleshooting electrical and control system issues.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and equipment upgrades.
  • Assisting with maintenance projects and plant shutdown activities.
  • Working closely with production and maintenance teams to ensure reliable operations.


Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, plus an on-call roster and support for planned shutdowns, including the Christmas/New Year maintenance period.


To succeed in this role, you will bring:


  • NZ Registered Electrician with a current practising licence.
  • 2-5+ years' proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience diagnosing and resolving faults to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiencies.
  • Experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach and a genuine passion for keeping production running at its best.
  • Team-focused approach with a willingness to get stuck in.
  • A strong commitment to health, safety, and quality.
