Job Description

Site Supervisor, Southeast Queensland & Regional Queensland based role – Not FIFO


$150,000 - $175,000 AUD + superannuation + motor vehicle + $5K relocation package

They have projects across South East Queensland (Greater Brisbane, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Hervey Bay, Townsville, Cairns, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Logan) as well as the regional towns Hervey Bay, Townsville and Cairns.


Projects are 60% urban development (typically subdivisions) for private companies and councils and 40% infrastructure (roads, bridges, rail etc) for Transport & Main Roads (TMR) & council projects.


The Role


  • Responsible and accountable for the effective programming of daily site works in accordance with the construction program, including any adjustments as they arise.
  • Responsible for project compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Responsible and accountable for the coordination of employees, subcontractors, plant and equipment required for the projects.
  • Provide advice, support and assistance to project staff in relation to any technical and/or complex problems that may arise during project life.
  • Monitor sub-contractors on a continual basis with a view to ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements.
  • Responsible for the overall financial performance of the projects.
  • Manage relevant personnel throughout their employment lifecycle including, selection, training and development, evaluation, performance management and termination of employment.
  • Ensure projects are adequately resourced with personnel of the required skills and experience
  • Manage activities on site, controlling costs and productivity to meet financial objectives of the projects.
  • Work closely with the project teams on costing changes to the project scope and/or pricing of variations to ensure the project meets financial goals.

About You


  • Background in Plant Operation, Construction and Delivery processes.
  • 3 years + NZ experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Supervision, Plant Operation, Road Construction and Maintenance or similar(desirable not essential)
  • Proven management skills, practices and planning ability
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and maintaining focus on priorities
  • Highly effective skills in negotiating, evaluating and administering contracts, specifications
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of Engineering principles and experience in actual project delivery
  • Computer literacy, particularly experience working with MS Excel and MS Project applications.
  • Highly effective planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
