Job Description

We’re looking for an experienced Storeperson to join a busy engineering and manufacturing operation in Christchurch.


This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in keeping a warehouse and stores area organised, knows their way around stock control, and can keep things moving in a fast-paced environment.


About the role

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the stores area, making sure materials, components and equipment are received, stored and issued accurately and efficiently.


Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Receiving and checking incoming goods
  • Picking and issuing parts and materials to the workshop
  • Stock control and maintaining accurate inventory records
  • Loading and unloading deliveries
  • Preparing materials and components for production
  • Keeping the stores and surrounding areas tidy and well organised
  • Assisting with stocktakes and general warehouse duties
  • Using forklifts and other material-handling equipment where required


What we’re looking for

We’re after someone with good stores or warehouse experience who is comfortable working in an engineering or manufacturing environment.


Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Previous experience in a storeperson, warehouse or stores role
  • Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • The ability to read and understand parts, product or job information
  • Good computer skills and confidence using inventory systems
  • A current forklift licence would be an advantage
  • A reliable, practical and proactive approach to your work
  • The ability to work well as part of a team while also getting on with the job independently
