Job Description

Got solid mechanical experience and know your way around trucks and fleet vehicles? We want to hear from you.

We’re currently looking for an experienced, hands-on Fleet Mechanic to join our client’s team in the Thames area. This is an immediate-start opportunity.

You don’t necessarily need to be trade qualified. If you have strong practical mechanical experience, a good understanding of vehicles and machinery, and you’re confident getting stuck into maintenance and repairs, this could be a great opportunity for you.

About the Role

You’ll be working alongside an experienced mechanic to help maintain and repair a varied fleet, including heavy diesel trucks, utes and other vehicles.

The focus of the role is helping ensure the fleet is maintained to a good standard and keeping vehicles operational and reliable.

Depending on your experience, your work may include:

  • Assisting with general mechanical repairs and maintenance
  • Working across heavy diesel trucks, utes and other fleet vehicles
  • Identifying mechanical issues and assisting with repairs
  • Carrying out general servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Checking vehicles for wear, damage or mechanical concerns
  • Working alongside the existing mechanic to complete day-to-day jobs
  • Helping keep the workshop and work areas organised and safe
  • Taking a practical, proactive approach to getting vehicles back on the road

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is mechanically capable, reliable and comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Solid hands-on mechanical experience
  • Experience working with heavy diesel vehicles, which is highly preferred
  • Experience maintaining trucks, commercial vehicles or fleet vehicles
  • Previous experience within the transport or logistics industry would be an advantage
  • Good practical problem-solving skills
  • Confidence using mechanical tools and workshop equipment appropriate to your experience
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to get stuck in
  • Good communication and the ability to work well alongside others
  • Reliability and a positive attitude
  • Availability to start immediately

Not Trade Qualified?

Don’t let that stop you from applying.

For this position, practical experience is key. If you’ve spent time working hands-on in the mechanical industry and have the skills and confidence to assist with maintaining and repairing a working vehicle fleet, we’d like to hear from you.

You might have gained your experience through a workshop, transport company, fleet environment or another hands-on mechanical role.

Why Apply?

This is a good opportunity for an experienced mechanical worker looking for an immediate-start role in the Thames area.

You’ll have the chance to work across a varied vehicle fleet, use your existing mechanical skills and work alongside an experienced mechanic.

If you’re reliable, mechanically experienced and ready to get stuck in, we want to hear from you.
