Welder Fabricator


Tradestaff Hawke’s Bay is looking for experienced Welder Fabricators to join a busy and growing workshop team in Hastings.

This is a hands-on role offering a great mix of fabrication, CNC operation, welding, and occasional off-site installation work.

Location: Hastings

Start date: Immediate start

Pay rate: $32–$38/hr depending on experience, paid weekly


  • What You’ll Be DoingWorkshop fabrication and manufacturing work
  • Operating CNC Router and Press Brake machinery
  • Welding, sheet metal, and light engineering tasks
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Completing routine maintenance and safety checks
  • Material handling and quality component production
  • Maintaining high workshop quality standards
  • Assisting with occasional site installations
  • Travelling outside the region when required
  • Overnight stays at times with transport provided
  • What We’re Looking ForStrong fabrication and general engineering experience
  • Good welding knowledge and practical workshop skills
  • CNC machinery operating experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings accurately
  • Manufacturing or production workshop background
  • Strong communication and problem-solving ability
  • Solid understanding of workshop health & safety
  • Reliable workers who take pride in quality work
