He angitūtanga / The opportunity:


As Chef de Partie at Emirates Lounge, Auckland Airport , you'll be the breakfast in charge who is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality food that exceeds customer expectations. You'll work closely with the kitchen team to maintain standards, manage supplies, and contribute to a memorable lounge experience for guests. This is a Casual Position with hours of work are on "as and when" required basis


Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:


  • Prepare and cook menu items including meat, seafood, vegetables, and plated dishes.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards, including cleaning and waste handling.
  • Receive, store, and rotate supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Develop menus to meet dietary and cultural needs, and apply catering control principles.
  • Coach team members and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing kitchen team.


He kōrero mōu / About you:


  • NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Experience cooking in a similar hospitality or lounge environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Flexible, reliable, and physically fit with a positive attitude.
  • NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168)
