ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a reliable and vigilant FIRE SENTRY/TRADE ASSISTANT on a casual/temporary basis to support our hot work operations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe worksite by monitoring welders, responding swiftly to any spark incidents, and assisting tradesmen with moving materials and equipment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor welding and hot work areas to ensure fire safety compliance.
  • Respond immediately to fire sparks and extinguish fires if they occur.
  • Assist tradesmen on-site by moving materials and equipment as needed.
  • Maintain vigilance throughout work hours to prevent fire hazards.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to uphold a safe and efficient work environment.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Previous experience in an engineering environment preferred.
  • Current Fire Sentry, Fire Extinguisher, and Confined Space certificates.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant during shifts.
  • Ability to work well in a team and assist tradesmen as needed.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday (7:30am - 5:00pm) and some Saturdays (until 12:00pm).
