Ebbett Prestige is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join our Volvo and Polestar team in Mt Maunganui.


We are looking for a skilled technician who takes pride in their workmanship, has strong diagnostic ability and enjoys working with modern vehicle technology including electric vehicles.


About the role


As a Volvo / Polestar Automotive Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of Volvo and Polestar passenger vehicles.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Carrying out scheduled servicing and maintenance
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electronic faults
  • Using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and technical information
  • Inspecting, testing and assessing vehicle components and systems
  • Completing electronic vehicle health check reports
  • Carrying out complex diagnostic and repair work
  • Carrying out PDIs and fitting accessories
  • Working safely and efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
  • Completing repair orders accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Keeping up to date with new vehicle technology via online training
  • Working as part of a professional workshop team


About you


The successful applicant will have:


  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant automotive technician experience
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working with modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems
  • The ability to diagnose and repair vehicle faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment
  • A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety


Desirable:


  • Automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience
  • Volvo and Polestar Franchise experience
  • Experience with hybrid and/or electric vehicles
  • Manufacturer diagnostic training or certification
  • Experience working in a franchised automotive dealership
  • WOF inspector
