Job Description


We are seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our team at AFFCORangiuru. This challenging role provides support to our Trades team in theelectrical maintenance of site machinery and equipment, which also includeshands-on repairs, project design and project administration.


What you'll be doing:


  • Fault Finding & Repair: Rapidly diagnosing and repairing faults on processing machinery, conveyors, packaging lines, and refrigeration systems.
  • Preventative Maintenance: executing scheduled maintenance to prevent breakdowns before they happen.
  • PLC & Automation: Working with PLCs, VSDs, and automated control systems to optimize plant efficiency.
  • Installations: Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.
  • Safety First: adhering strictly to Health & Safety protocols and electrical standards.


Qualifications


The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following keyrequirements for the role:


  • A proactive approach that ensures the production departments experience minimal down time due to maintenance requirements,
  • Possess strong time management skill in order to prioritize projects when required,
  • A proactive approach to daily routine with strong organisational skills,
  • A strong commitment to upholding health and safety standards,
  • Strong problem-solving skills,
  • Appropriate qualifications New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (Level 3) .
  • Knowledge of Industrial communication protocols, such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus RTU and TCP/IP.
  • A willingness to learn PLC / HMI / programming experience across various platforms (i.e. Allen Bradley, Schneider).
