He angitūtanga / The opportunity:


We are looking for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our culinary team at Auckland Airport .


This is a casual position , with shifts offered on an as-and-when-required basis depending on business needs. Weekly hours are not guaranteed.

You will prepare, cook and present quality food while supporting a smooth, safe and efficient kitchen operation. You will maintain high food safety standards, assist with stock control and help your teammates develop their skills.


Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:


  • Prepare, cook, portion and present menu items to a consistently high standard.
  • Maintain quality control and complete all end-of-service requirements.
  • Receive, store and rotate kitchen supplies while helping minimise food waste.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, cleaning and health and safety procedures.
  • Support colleagues through on-the-job coaching and effective teamwork.


He kōrero mōu / About you:


  • An NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous cooking experience within a similar food service environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure while remaining professional and positive.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • A flexible, reliable and hardworking approach, with good physical fitness.
  • An NZQA Food Handling Certificate, menu and nutrition planning experience, or previous experience mentoring kitchen teams would be advantageous.
